ASSISTANT HATCHERY MANAGER
Cooke Aquaculture has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company’s Freshwater Management Team located in Bingham, Maine.

The Role:
As a result of our robust growth, we are adding an Assistant Hatchery Manager to our team of professionals. As a leader you must be able to exercise the necessary authority to assure policies and procedures are followed and time frames are met. Excellent people management and communication skills are essential to build an effective team and organizational relationships.
Primary duties of this role include but are not limited to:
Overall responsibility for the effective operation of the Hatchery and a small crew of Hatchery employees when the manager is offsite. This includes:
- Ensuring the physical security of the fish stock and all equipment.
- Maintaining optimum fish health
- Ensuring good feeding, growth, and performance of fish stock
- Maintaining employee safety, training and development
Qualifications/Requirements/Attributes:
- Thorough knowledge of Salmon Farming
- Ability to supervise and lead a team
- In-depth knowledge of fish health and disease issues
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain accurate site records and adequate knowledge of Microsoft software
- Ability to analyze production data, determine fish performance and make necessary changes to optimize fish performance
- Ability to coordinate site events, crew, and equipment demands, etc.
- Ability to plan future requirements for staffing, equipment, feed requirements, stocking, grading/splitting, medicating, etc.
- Ability to maintain Hatchery and equipment securely and in excellent condition
- Ability to effectively develop site staff and delegate site responsibilities
- Ability to analyze problems and make appropriate recommendations
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures
