SENIOR JAVA SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and documenting reliably working software code for our infrastructure services and applications.

KEYS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Senior-level Java & Python skills
  • Web services/application knowledge
  • Information Health Exchange message handling experience (HL7 RIM v2/3, DICOM, NCPDP, and X12)
  • Position offers three remote/two onsite work week opportunity

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Break down complex requirements into attainable feature functionality sets
  • Able to read, understand and implement standards such as HTTP, FHIR, REST/Restful, HL7, CCDA, and QRDA (Previous FHIR experience not required)
  • Adheres to our architecture to implement sound and reliable software keeping business requirements and strategy at the forefront of implementation
  • Translates user and architectural requirements into secure, well-tested implementations
  • Utilizes directory architecture and interactive prototypes and mockups to integrate production code, visual design, interface, and navigational structure
  • Works within and has good understanding of an agile approach to code development
  • Documents structure, implementation and processes
  • Validates information delivery by developing and completing usability, unit, system, end-to-end, and load test plans, as well as working directly with customer representatives evaluating usage patterns
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Requirements:

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

  • 7 + years working in a professional software development organization with a focus on healthcare as a software developer
  • Python and Java experience
  • Web services/application experience
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of implementing web services and REST/Restful API architectural style
  • Information Health Exchange message handling experience (HL7 RIM v2/3, DICOM, NCPDP, and X12)
  • Worked with or knowledge of Clinical Quality Language (CQL)
  • Database management experience (experience on the Salesforce.com platform is desired)
  • Object-Oriented Programming language experience (Salesforce Apex is a plus)
  • Experience with API Security & Federated Identity Technology such as OAUTH 2.0, Open ID Connect, UMA and SAML 2.0
  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative to succeed
  • Strong verbal communication skills
