DevSecOps Engineer - Clearance Required

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer - Clearance Required based in United States.

This is an opportunity to help deliver secure, reliable technology supporting critical federal acquisition systems.
You’ll work at the intersection of software development, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and automation.
The role focuses on building repeatable CI/CD capabilities and modernizing delivery through DevSecOps practices.
You’ll design AWS environments, automate infrastructure, and operate containerized workloads at enterprise scale.
Your work will embed security controls throughout the software lifecycle while supporting Agile delivery teams.
You’ll collaborate with developers, architects, cybersecurity specialists, database teams, and other technical stakeholders.
The position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical government technology.

Accountabilities
  • Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines supporting application and infrastructure delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and automation platforms such as Ansible.
  • Architect, deploy, and manage AWS resources and cloud services supporting secure application hosting, integration, monitoring, and operations.
  • Build, deploy, administer, and maintain secure containerized services using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift, including hardening, patching, storage, and service health.
  • Integrate security scanning, vulnerability detection, automated testing, and security gates into software delivery pipelines.
  • Develop secure container images and enforce security and configuration standards throughout development and deployment.
  • Support the secure deployment and operational integration of Appian-based application services within approved cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline, deployment, infrastructure, integration, and environment issues, driving complex problems through to resolution.
  • Collaborate with application developers, Appian specialists, information assurance professionals, database administrators, and system architects to align technical delivery with program objectives.
  • Apply applicable DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and STIG controls, across build and deployment activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including pipeline diagrams, playbooks, configuration records, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement across development, deployment, security, and operational practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, systems automation, or related enterprise technology roles.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Experience deploying and operating AWS or comparable public cloud solutions.
  • Practical experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation tools.
  • Familiarity with security automation, vulnerability scanning, and integrating security controls into software delivery pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile software development or enterprise operations environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Experience with the Appian Platform, including Appian Cloud or Appian GovCloud, is preferred.
  • Terraform or Ansible experience or certification is a plus.
  • CompTIA Security+, Linux+, or comparable cybersecurity/Linux certification is desirable.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer, or Security are valued.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, Tekton, GitLab CI, or comparable CI/CD technologies is preferred.
  • Scripting or programming experience with Bash, Python, or Java is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, STIG requirements, SAFe, Agile DevOps, or PI Planning is beneficial.
Benefits
  • Target salary: $100,000–$166,000, with final compensation based on factors including experience, education, skills, certifications, location, contract requirements, and security clearance.
