Regional Sales Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Sales Manager based in United States.

The Regional Sales Manager will own foodservice sales growth across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa, managing a diverse portfolio of distributors, brokers, and regional operators.
The role combines strategic account management, new business development, broker leadership, and business planning to achieve ambitious sales and profitability targets.
You will build strong relationships with foodservice distribution houses, multi-unit chains, and large independent operators across key customer segments.
Your ability to understand market dynamics, identify opportunities, and position value-added seafood products will be central to driving regional growth.
You will also manage pricing, trade spend, forecasting, customer pipelines, and sales-related expenses while maintaining disciplined commercial execution.
Working closely with Marketing, Culinary, Procurement, Customer Service, Sales Planning, Quality Assurance, brokers, and customers, you will turn market insights into actionable growth strategies.
This is a highly autonomous, customer-facing opportunity for a commercially driven professional who enjoys building relationships, winning new business, and delivering measurable results across a large territory.

Accountabilities
  • Manage the foodservice business across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa, with accountability for achieving sales budgets, growth objectives, and business performance targets.
  • Allocate focus across broker and distributor management, regional operator account management, new business development, and strategic business planning.
  • Sell foodservice commodities and value-added seafood products to broadline distributors and foodservice operators while identifying opportunities to increase market penetration.
  • Develop deep knowledge of key customers, competitors, brokers, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities throughout the assigned region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with foodservice distribution houses, multi-unit chains, large independent operators, buying groups, healthcare distribution organizations, and other strategic accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities while developing strong customer pipelines and converting prospects into long-term commercial relationships.
  • Manage and negotiate customer pricing and trade-spend activities while balancing customer value, competitive positioning, and profitability.
  • Attend food shows, conduct broker training and product cuttings, and lead business reviews to strengthen relationships and support product growth.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Culinary, Procurement, Customer Service, Sales Planning, Quality Assurance, brokers, and external customer stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met and profitable growth is delivered.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and relevant market and competitive intelligence to support demand planning and commercial decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate weekly Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and trade management reporting.
  • Track and manage all sales-related expenses within the assigned territory.
  • Translate field insights and customer feedback into actionable recommendations that support regional strategy and business development.
Requirements
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent educational background.
  • Bring 5–10 years of experience in foodservice sales, broker network management, distribution sales, or a chef-related commercial role, with seafood industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of foodservice sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Have a proven ability to win new business, build and manage customer pipelines, and establish productive long-term internal and external relationships.
  • Possess strong strategic and analytical capabilities, combined with the independence and judgment required to make decisions and execute tactical plans effectively.
  • Be self-motivated, highly organized, results-driven, and disciplined in following through on commitments and customer activities.
  • Demonstrate strong forecasting and demand-planning capabilities and the ability to use market information to support commercial decisions.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Power BI, Technomic, and Datassential.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, brokers, internal stakeholders, and senior business partners across a range of commercial situations.
  • Be comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Be willing and able to travel up to 50% during the peak Lenten season.
