Position Summary

Our Professional Tailors are responsible for altering, repairing, fitting, and finishing garments to meet customer specifications and quality standards. This position requires professional sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer service while ensuring garments are completed accurately and on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure customers and mark garments for alterations.
• Perform alterations including shortening, tapering, resizing, zipper replacement, patching, and repairs.
• Conduct fittings and make adjustment recommendations.
• Operate commercial sewing machines, pressing equipment, and other tailoring tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect garments before and after alterations to ensure quality standards are met.
• Press and finish garments to provide a professional appearance.
• Communicate alteration requirements and completion timelines with customers and team members.
• Maintain accurate records of customer orders and alteration details.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship and speed of work.

Qualifications

• Professional tailoring, sewing, and garment alteration experience.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and alteration techniques.
• Ability to accurately take measurements and perform fittings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to use sewing machines, scissors, irons, and other tailoring equipment safely.
• Good vision for detailed work.
