Ultrasound Technologist in Pine Ridge, South Dakota at Akicita Federal, LLC

Akicita Federal is hiring Ultrasound Technologists to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services for the Indian Health Service Pine Ridge Hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. In this role, you will be a frontline clinical contributor supporting a rural Native American community with direct patient care across emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and obstetrical settings. - Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across a broad range of clinical areas including general, OB/GYN, vascular, and emergency imaging

- Support continuous radiology department operations, ensuring timely and diagnostically accurate imaging for providers and clinical teams

- Provide ultrasound services for obstetrical care, including fetal assessments and maternal health imaging

- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to prioritize and complete urgent and emergent imaging requests

- Document examination findings accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with department and facility standards

- Maintain equipment readiness and adhere to all applicable patient safety, infection control, and accreditation standards

- Contribute to continuity of care in a remote rural hospital setting, adapting to the varied imaging needs of a diverse patient population

- Current, active registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or equivalent recognized credentialing body

- Demonstrated hands-on experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple modalities (general, OB/GYN, emergency, vascular)

- Ability to work independently and exercise professional clinical judgment in a remote, rural hospital environment

- Compliance with all applicable clinical, patient safety, and healthcare accreditation requirements

- Ability to maintain consistent, reliable performance across full-time equivalent scheduling demands

What sets candidates apart:

- Prior experience working in a federally operated or tribal health facility, Indian Health Service site, or similarly rural and resource-constrained healthcare setting

- Additional ARDMS specialty credentials (e.g., OB/GYN, Abdomen, Vascular Technology)

- Familiarity with electronic health records and radiology information systems used in government or IHS hospital environments

- Experience supporting emergency and after-hours imaging in a hospital setting with limited specialist backup

- Cultural awareness of or personal connection to Native American communities and the unique healthcare needs they face
