Shipping Specialist in Rochester, New York at RITEC Enterprises, Inc.

Position Overview

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for managing the shipping process for RITEC Enterprises’ wide range of products and handle light building maintenance. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, packing orders and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Preparation & Fulfillment
  • Receive, review, and process sales orders for shipping.
  • Ensure accurate picking and packing of products in line with order specifications and vendor/distributor guidelines.
• Inventory & Record Management
  • Update inventory records using Net-Suite ERP based on shipped goods and report discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate shipping logs and records for audits and performance tracking.
• Shipping Coordination
  • Select and coordinate with appropriate carriers
  • Schedule pickups and troubleshoot issues such as delays or carrier disputes.
• Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documents
  • Ensure shipments meet regulatory and safety standards, especially for sensitive equipment like sensors or hazardous environment-rated instrumentation.
• Tracking & Communication
  • Monitor shipment status, provide tracking updates, and proactively address delivery issues.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external customers regarding shipping timelines and discrepancies.
• Facilities & Maintenance
  • Perform basic groundskeeping
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse
  • Conduct routine building upkeep
  • Address other general maintenance needs as they arise.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.

1+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse roles

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations.

Proficiency in inventory and order management systems

Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and work under pressure.

Ability to operate behind a forklift and pallet jack

Communication

Clear verbal and written communication to liaise with teams, management, and external partners.

Physical & Regulatory

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle standard warehouse tasks.

Familiarity with safety practices and relevant regulatory standards.

Comfortable working on extension ladders or elevated platforms when needed.
