This role is considered hybrid; the expectation is two days' presence in the St. Petersburg, FL office or the Edison, NJ office.

About the Position

The E&S Compliance Specialist is responsible for the accurate preparation, reporting, and filing of surplus lines premium taxes, stamping fees, and regulatory reports in compliance with state requirements. This role ensures timely filings with state surplus lines offices and regulatory bodies while maintaining accurate records of transactions with non-admitted insurers. The E&S Compliance Specialist will report directly to PCS’ E&S Compliance Manager within the Legal & Compliance Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data entry of surplus lines filings into various state websites.
  • Prepare and file surplus lines tax reports and regulatory filings for multiple states.
  • Reconcile premium and tax amounts with accounting records and broker systems.
  • Submit filings and payments to state regulatory authorities and stamping offices.
  • Monitor filing deadlines and ensure all reports are submitted on time.
  • Research state-specific surplus lines tax rules and regulatory updates.
  • Communicate with brokers, underwriters, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to surplus lines filings.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance and regulatory review.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Education

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience in surplus lines tax filing, especially CA, NY, TX, and FL, is preferable.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and regulatory requirements across states.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
