Nevada County is nestled in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills, about an hour outside Sacramento and two hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. It includes coordinating the enterprise IT training program, participating in the Business Relationship Management (BRM) team, and monitoring and reporting on key metrics.
Under the direction of the Technical Operations Manager, this position will use their technical and leadership experience to support our enterprise vision of excellent service. This person will aid and guide the Desktop Services Team. They will implement and oversee training and support programs that seek to enhance County employee use and proficiency in technology systems. At time this position will assume a project manager role to support the IS team.
The Senior Information System Analyst is part of the leadership team of the IS department, participating in direction-setting and strategic visioning, identifying quality issues, and recommending resolutions. There will be strong interaction with the department to review feedback from various teams and to develop objectives and goals that enhance our customers’ experience. Key attributes of the leadership expectations include embracing a “servant leadership” attitude and demonstrating strong alignment to our core values.
Qualified candidates generally have experience in these primary areas:
- Staff Supervision and Leadership
- IT Service Management (ITIL)
- Program administration
- Project Management
The ideal Team Member is well-rounded, possessing strong customer service and team leadership experience, project management capability, and program administration skills. Training will be provided for specific technologies, so prior experience is not as important as a willingness to grow and learn. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in computer science, information technology, business administration, geographic information systems, geography, or a closely related field with an emphasis on information systems and three years of experience working at a level comparable to a Nevada County Information Systems Analyst II or Geographic Systems Analyst II.
Additional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis for up to two years.
