Position Summary
The Project Scheduler II develops, maintains, and analyzes complex project schedules in support of aerospace, defense, and manufacturing programs. This role ensures schedule accuracy and alignment across engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams while operating within regulatory and contractual requirements. The position supports integrated master scheduling, baseline control, risk identification, and performance tracking across multiple medium complexity programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and status detailed project schedules across engineering, production, testing, and supply chain workflows.
- Support development of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in compliance with industry standards (e.g., DCMA 14point assessment, EVMS guidelines).
- Coordinate schedule inputs across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including systems engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.
- Monitor schedule performance, analyze variances, and update timelines based on actual progress, delays, or changes in priorities.
- Perform schedule risk analysis, identify critical path drivers, and recommend mitigation strategies to program leadership.
- Prepare recurring schedule reports, dashboards, Gantt charts, and performance metrics for internal leadership and external customers.
- Support baseline planning, change control processes, and configuration management per aerospace and defense program requirements.
- Communicate scheduling impacts related to long lead materials, manufacturing constraints, supplier delays, and testing dependencies.
- Partner with project managers to ensure schedules align with contractual milestones, manufacturing readiness, and customer deliverables.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling practices, templates, and tools.
Requirements
- Experience developing schedules for electronic subsystem and system development from the ground up.
- Proficiency with MS Project scheduling tool.
- Understanding of aerospace and defense program requirements including EVMS, WBS structures, and configuration control.
- Knowledge of engineering change processes, production flows, and supply chain dependencies common to manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, milestone driven environment supporting multiple programs.
Skills
- Preferred: Experience with DCMA audits, Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule (IMP/IMS) development, or DoD program requirements. Experience with SSI Tools.
- Preferred certifications: PMISP, PMP, or similar.
Experience
- 3–5 years of scheduling experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
