This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are seeking an exceptional, principal-level HR Business Partner to support Blue Origin's New Glenn program. New Glenn is our orbital launch vehicle designed to transform space transportation and exploration. This Principal HR practitioner will be a key strategic partner to executive leadership across the New Glenn program, driving the alignment of business strategy with talent strategy. This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of HR for the Business Units and Corporate HRBP teams.

The Principal HRBP will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative HR strategies and best practices, while serving as a trusted advisor to New Glenn's senior leadership team. This role demands an expert who can leverage deep knowledge of the aerospace sector and complex engineering programs to deliver transformative people strategies that enable New Glenn and the greater Blue Origin to achieve its ambitious goals. As a senior individual contributor, this role will collaborate extensively with HR centers of excellence and program leadership to drive people initiatives for the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the Head of New Glenn and their executive leadership team to develop and execute a comprehensive People Strategy that supports Blue Origin's mission and the New Glenn program's specific objectives.

• Leverage AI and analytics across HR functions, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and performance management, to drive data-informed decision-making and enhance overall HR effectiveness for the New Glenn program.

• Serve as the primary HR strategist and thought leader for the New Glenn program, influencing HR policies and practices within the program.

• Design and implement cutting-edge workforce development initiatives tailored to the evolving aerospace industry, including strategic labor planning, succession planning, and leadership development programs for New Glenn.

• Contribute to organizational design and effectiveness initiatives to optimize the New Glenn team structure for peak performance.

• Support change management and culture building initiatives to facilitate New Glenn's growth and developing operational needs.

• Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues within the New Glenn program.

• Serve as a peer mentor to other HRBPs across Blue Origin, sharing best practices and insights gained from supporting the New Glenn program.

• Collaborate with Blue Origin's HR function on industry events and external partnerships to enhance the company's employer brand in the aerospace sector.

• Travel to various sites (20-25%) to provide on-site HR support and to foster strong relationships with local leaders and employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, concentrated supporting a technical population.

• Proficiency in using AI with demonstrated ability to implement AI-driven solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness of HR processes.

• Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results in complex, high-stakes engineering environments.

• Extensive experience partnering with executive leadership and influencing organizational strategy.

• Deep expertise in organizational development, talent management, and change management within the context of large-scale engineering projects.

• Comprehensive understanding of HR analytics and the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decision-making.

• Strong knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements specific to the aerospace industry.

Desired:

• Advanced degree in Business, Human Capital Management, Interpersonal Psychology, or related field.

• Background in supporting or strong familiarity with aerospace.

• Experience with process improvement approaches (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
