At LBS, base salary is only one aspect of an employee’s total compensation package, which may additionally include performance/incentive-based compensation earnings, retirement accounts, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and a generous amount of paid time off. The Home Based therapist will provide intensive home and community based services to children and their families with multiple service needs. The focus of treatment is to support and preserve families and provide effective treatment and community supports to address risks that may increase the likelihood of a child being placed outside the home.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Completes all required trainings.
  • Reports to work on time as scheduled and at the location assigned.
  • Responsible for transporting consumers to community appointments, clinic appointments, activities and other resources as identified in their person centered plan.
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and facilitate person centered planning.
  • Therapist must become reliable PECFAS raters by attending the PECFAS training within the first 3-6 months of hire. Therapist cannot administer the PECFAS unless certified a reliable rater. Therapist must administer CAFAS PECFAS quarterly.
  • Provide home-based therapeutic services.
  • Practices Person Centered Planning principles.
  • Treatment planning integrates assessments to provide meaningful and individual goals and objectives.
  • Therapist completes necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assessments are completed in a timely and thorough manner. All assessments contain the documentation requested on the form.
  • Progress notes are completed after each contact.
  • Treatment plans and reviews are completed within established timeframes.
  • Maintains the required 80 monthly direct service hours.
  • Facilitate support groups as needed.
  • Submit timely and accurate paperwork.
  • Maintain client files in order and up to date.
  • Provide client transportation as needed.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development including but not limited to in-service training, peer review, external workshops and seminars.
  • Attend all agency and department meetings as required.
  • The clinician has no substantiated recipient rights violations filed against him or her.
  • When appropriate, completes other assigned responsibilities in a reasonable established timeframe, with quality expectations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other related human service field.
  • Appropriate licensure with the State of Michigan.
  • Obtain appropriate certification through the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health.
  • Background in childhood development or basic understanding of appropriate family dynamics.
  • Preferred 2 years experience with direct clinical experience in providing therapeutic services to children and their families.

SKILLS AND ABILITITES

  • Ability to demonstrate commitment, caring and respect for children and adults from diverse backgrounds that demonstrate a multiplicity of problems.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and responsibly as a member of a team with colleagues, supervisors, and collateral contacts.
  • Ability to develop treatment plans and coordinate needed services.
  • Ability to role model appropriate child-handling techniques to parents.
  • An understanding of professional practice, ethics, and HIPPA requirements
  • Demonstrate positive communication both orally and written.
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner.
