Position Title: Workforce Development Manager
Reports To: Director of Workforce Development
Your Role in Our Mission
As a Workforce Development Manager, you will help people learn new skills and move forward in their careers. You’ll lead a team while also coaching employees one-on-one, helping them grow in confidence and ability.
This is more than a management job—it’s a chance to guide others, support them through challenges, and help them build a path to independence and success.
What You’ll Do
• Support and lead retail team members, including persons served with disabilities, helping them reach their personal and work goals
• Coach and encourage employees as they build skills and confidence
• Develop and implement Journey Maps and individualized career plans
• Provide hands-on coaching, including crisis intervention and barrier resolution
• Track outcomes and keep clear, accurate records
• Complete performance reviews and help employees plan their next steps
• Collaborate with store leaders to align goals and maintain communication
• Help hire and welcome new team members
• Find new and better ways to help employees learn and succeed
• Connect employees to helpful resources inside and outside of Goodwill
• Travel to different locations and adjust your schedule as needed
What You Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field (or similar experience); 2 years of full-time paid employment providing services to persons with disabilities and disadvantages may be substituted for each year of post-secondary education.
• At least 3 years of related experience (supervisory experience preferred)
• Strong communication and people skills
• Ability to coach, guide, and support others
• Comfort handling challenging situations with care and professionalism
• Good organization and problem-solving skills
• Respect for privacy and professionalism
• A positive attitude that motivates others
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel between locations
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance
