About This Position
About the Role:
The Tire Technician plays a critical role in ensuring vehicle safety and performance by expertly installing, repairing, and maintaining tires on a variety of vehicles. This position requires a thorough understanding of tire specifications, proper mounting techniques, and balancing procedures to deliver high-quality service. The technician will work closely with customers and team members to diagnose tire-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions. Maintaining compliance with OSHA safety standards is essential to create a safe working environment for both the technician and customers. Ultimately, the Tire Technician contributes to the overall reliability and safety of vehicles, enhancing customer satisfaction and trust.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Tire Technician or in a similar automotive service role.
- Knowledge of tire types, sizes, and specifications.
- Ability to operate tire mounting and balancing equipment safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized automotive or tire service organization.
- Understanding of OSHA safety regulations relevant to tire service operations.
- Experience working with a wide range of vehicle types including passenger cars, trucks, and commercial vehicles.
- Basic mechanical skills related to vehicle maintenance.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if required.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation to determine service needs.
- Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires using specialized tools and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance such as tire rotations and pressure checks to extend tire life.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain services performed and provide recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
Skills:
Punctuality ensures that the technician is consistently available to meet customer appointments and maintain workflow efficiency.
