General Merchandise-Wellness Clerk at CARDIFF SEASIDE MARKET – Cardiff-By-The-Sea, California

Summary: Assist the General Merchandise-Floral Manager in the day-to-day activities in the general merchandise, wellness & health, and floral department. This role blends traditional retail tasks with a specialized focus on vitamins, supplements, natural body care, and holistic lifestyle products. You will act as a knowledgeable resource for customers seeking to improve their well-being while ensuring the department remains organized, fully stocked, and compliant with safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Receive, unload, and verify shipments. Efficiently stock shelves using FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure product freshness and minimize shrink.
• Perform “facing” (pulling products to the front) and ensure all items are correctly tagged and priced.
• Assist in the ordering processes.
• Create floral arrangements to display and sell.
• Perform plant maintenance, including watering, trimming and rotating.
• Execute seasonal resets and build creative displays for promotional items.
• Maintain a functional understanding of wellness trends, including organic standards, dietary supplements, and natural ingredients, to assist with customer inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing shopping environment.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); interest in holistic health or nutrition is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Food Handler Certification. Certified Dietary Supplement Professional is preferred.
