Job Summary:The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory across two physical locations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires proficiency in MIE Trak inventory management software and a strong understanding of supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment supporting NASSCO, BAE Systems, and military contracts (Army, Air Force, Navy).Key Responsibilities:- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct audits, and reconcile discrepancies.- MIE Trak Utilization: Use MIE Trak software to track inventory levels, generate reports, and optimize stock movement.- Multi-Location Coordination: Oversee inventory transfers, stock replenishment, and logistics between two physical locations.- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to military and defense industry regulations regarding inventory control and reporting.- Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain optimal stock levels.- Process Improvement: Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.- Collaboration: Work closely with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to align inventory with operational needs.- Reporting: Generate inventory reports for management and provide insights for strategic decision-making.Qualifications & Skills:- Experience: Minimum 2 years in inventory control within a manufacturing environment.- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MIE Trak or similar ERP systems.- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with NASSCO, BAE Systems, and military supply chain requirements.- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze inventory trends and optimize stock levels.- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records.- Driver License.- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move inventory as needed.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working with government contracts and military supply chains.- Certification in inventory management or supply chain logistics.- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
