The Opportunity:


This role leads the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of the Optical and Acoustic Gas Detection product portfolio, with full ownership of product performance and P&L. The position ensures that product roadmaps, pricing strategies, and development priorities align with business objectives to drive revenue growth and profitability. By partnering cross-functionally across engineering, marketing, sales, and operations, the role ensures efficient execution of product development and successful go-to-market strategies. Ultimately, this position strengthens Det-Tronics’ market leadership by delivering innovative, high-value solutions that meet evolving customer and industry needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Owns and drives the product lifecycle management and the P&L for Optical and Acoustic Gas Detection
  • Works with the wider Product Management Team to define and execute the integrated Fire, Gas, and Systems product portfolio multi-year strategy.
  • Identifies and partners with third-party suppliers to expand our offerings
  • Partners across the organization to identify and prioritize the roadmap to business objective attainment
  • Collaborates with functional peers to define & secure resources necessary to support projects
  • Ensures the appropriate mix of projects is active to achieve revenue and profitability goals
  • Prioritizes mix and scope of projects to maximize ROI for the organization
  • Facilitates effective execution of the stage-gate product development process across teams
  • Ensure project teams quickly reach decisions that help balance customer and business objectives.
  • Translate offerings core benefits to inform successful go-to-market strategies
  • Ownership of pricing strategy for offerings
  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage offering vitality including actively upgrading, extending and retirement
  • Be critical about SKU proliferation and lead SKU rationalization
  • Partner to ensure that training, marketing material, etc., communicate product value & differentiation in a compelling way

What You Bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years’ product development experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Significant experience developing product road maps and executing product development plans
  • Demonstrated aptitude in leveraging human-centered design principles to deliver customer-focused products and solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in flame and gas detection or other sensing industries
  • Knowledge of IEC 60079-29 standard and its implications for performance approvals
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of the organization
  • An executive presence with polished and well-developed facilitation, written and oral communication skills, demonstrating creativity and technical expertise
  • Assertive and confident with a strong point of view while able to understand/empathize and support other perspectives. Intent on building trusting and collaborative partnerships/relationships
  • Well-versed in all aspects of product lifecycle management & development
  • Strong business acumen, including a solid understanding of financial analysis methods
