JOB SUMMARY

You will be responsible for the end-to-back scheduling process—from initial contact and demographic verification to navigating medical necessity and insurance requirements.

Your precision directly impacts our clinical efficiency and our standing as a top-tier healthcare provider in Maryland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Precision Scheduling: Proficiently schedule cases into Paragon Resource Scheduling, ensuring all departmental policies are met and resources (staff, rooms, equipment) are allocated correctly.

  • Documentation & Detail: Maintain meticulous records of appointment details to ensure seamless communication of case-specific information across departments.

  • Patient Integration: Accurately select patients from the Master Patient Index (MPI) and verify all demographic and insurance information for 100% accuracy.

  • Clinical Compliance: * Obtain and verify ICD-9/ICD-10 codes at the point of scheduling.

    • Resolve medical necessity check issues and print Advance Beneficiary Notices (ABNs) when indicated.

  • Order Management: Proactively manage the Wait List and process physician orders in a timely manner. You will follow up with departments regarding pending orders to prevent delays in care.

  • Strategic Impact: Execute scheduling duties with an eye toward financial health, helping Carroll Hospital Center maintain its status as a top 5 hospital on the MHA accounts receivable report.

  • Collaborative Communication: Act as a liaison between colleagues, physicians, and patients to resolve issues and meet our high standards for Customer Service.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Preferred High School Diploma Medical Terminology required
  • 2-4 years Hospital or Medical office experience Required

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Interpersonal skills (both written and oral) are necessary in order to communicate with dept. personnel, physicians, physician office staff, supervisors and other hospital depts. Must be at least 18 years old to witness patient/guarantor signatures.
