Job Description
We’re looking for Staff Accountants who are excited to support the financial operations of the hospital through professional accounting services. In this role, you’ll assist with preparing financial reports, analyzing general ledger accounts, supporting daily accounting operations, and collaborating with leadership to maintain accurate financial records.
You’ll work closely with the Controller to address financial issues, recommend process improvements, and ensure accounting functions run efficiently. Key Responsibilities
Perform professional accounting services for fiscal services functions and activities
Assist in preparation of financial, cash flow, and department operating expense reports
Support the Controller with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end accounting operations
Perform general ledger analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses
Recommend improvements to fiscal policies to improve operational efficiency
Work directly within the hospital’s financial systems and software
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Payroll functions when needed
Perform additional accounting duties as assigned by the Controller
Collaborative Teamwork
This role involves working closely with the Controller and finance team to maintain accurate financial records, support hospital operations, and contribute to a collaborative and efficient accounting environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a regionally accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or equivalent education, or more than 10 years of experience in the financial and accounting field
Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting, budgeting, management information systems, and material management
Experience working in a highly computerized organization with financial and information systems, auditing, bank/bond financing, cost reporting, and insurance
Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in the English language
Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community
