Staff Accountant
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting job cost accounting, and assisting supporting operations depending on business needs. The position would primarily report to the Controller while working with the HR Manager, accounts payable and payroll staff, and the CFO.
An accounting degree is preferred. Experience working within an ERP is required, with Viewpoint Spectrum or Deltek Computer Ease a plus.

The Staff Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting job cost accounting, and assisting supporting operations depending on business needs. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist and backup accounts payable staff. Process invoices from material vendors and subcontractors.
- Research invoice problems encountered during the entry process.
- Prepare approved invoices for payment and verify coding and accuracy of invoices submitted. Process company payments in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolve inquiries about open accounts payable items. Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
- Assist and backup payroll staff in processing payroll and employee reimbursements.
- Enter client invoices into the accounting system. Post accounts receivable payments received from clients.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, monthly accruals, preparation of job schedule and closing of financial statements.
- Provide feedback to management and recommend enhancements to gain efficiencies and better represent Moore Industries to our vendors and employees.
- Manage multi-state business licenses
- Assist and backup HR staff with onboarding new hires, processing new hire paperwork, scheduling drug and other testing, background checks, etc. as needed.
- Assist with administration of employee benefit plans – primarily health insurance and 401K.
