About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Multifamily Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of apartment communities totaling approximately 200–500 units. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and resident satisfaction across multiple communities while leading and supporting on-site teams.
The ideal candidate is a strong operator and people leader who understands what drives NOI, occupancy, and resident retention—and isn’t afraid to be hands-on when needed.

What You’ll Do

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple multifamily apartment communities

Lead and support on-site teams, including Property Managers, Leasing Consultants, and Maintenance Supervisors

Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, rent optimization, and expense control

Review monthly financials, rent rolls, variance reports, and KPIs

Monitor leasing velocity, occupancy, renewals, and resident retention

Conduct regular property inspections focused on curb appeal, unit turns, and maintenance standards

Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, local regulations, and company policies
-
Manage vendor relationships, capital projects, and value-add initiatives

Serve as the primary point of contact for ownership, providing clear reporting and strategic recommendations

Handle escalated resident concerns and risk-related matters
What We’re Looking For

4–7+ years of multifamily apartment management experience
-
Proven experience overseeing 200–500 units across one or multiple communities
-
Strong understanding of multifamily financials and NOI drivers
-
Demonstrated leadership experience managing on-site teams

Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and multifamily best practices
-
Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, AppFolio, RealPage/OneSite, Buildium, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications

CAM, CPM, or similar industry designation

Experience with stabilized or value-add multifamily assets

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field
