Job Description

About us elite | studio e is a family-owned design/build firm specializing in foodservice and hospitality environments, including corporate cafés, dining spaces, coffee bars, and commercial kitchens. We bring together design, equipment, custom fabrication, and construction coordination to help our clients turn a vision into a finished space. We take pride in our work, help each other, and enjoy working together. We value people who take responsibility, communicate openly, and follow through. About the Position We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help oversee the daily work on our jobsites. You will coordinate with subcontractors and installation crews, watch progress and quality, and keep your Project Manager informed about what is happening in the field. You and the Project Manager will work closely together. The PM leads overall planning, scheduling, and client coordination. You help put that plan into action onsite—making sure people have the information they need, identifying problems early, and following through on the details that keep work moving. Construction or related field experience is welcome, but it is not required. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, observant, comfortable working with people, and eager to learn. As your knowledge and judgment develop, your responsibilities will grow. What You Will Do • Provide daily onsite supervision and coordination of Elite’s subcontractors, vendors, and installation crews during assigned project work. • Coordinate daily activities with the general contractor, trades, and other project partners. • Understand the project schedule and daily priorities, track progress, and flag anything that could affect upcoming work. • Help verify site readiness, including access, delivery arrangements, staging areas, and conditions needed for installation. • Review work against project drawings, approved information, and quality expectations. • Keep accurate daily reports with photos, work completed, issues, delays, and required follow-up. • Bring field issues to the Project Manager promptly, gather the information needed to understand them, and help carry out the agreed solution. • Track open items and follow up with the people responsible until the work is completed and verified. • Help coordinate equipment deliveries, installation, startup, training, punch-list work, and project closeout. • Follow jobsite safety requirements and promptly report unsafe conditions or concerns. • Represent Elite professionally with clients and project partners, and treat subcontractors with respect while holding them accountable for their commitments. What You Bring • Dependability and a willingness to take responsibility for your work. • Good observation skills and attention to detail. • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain what is happening and ask for help when needed. • Organization and follow-through when several things need attention at once. • A practical approach to problems and the willingness to ask questions rather than guess. • Comfort using email, Microsoft Office, and digital tools for reports, photos, and project information. • Willingness to learn construction drawings, foodservice equipment, installation requirements, and jobsite coordination. • Availability for frequent travel and flexibility around project schedules. Experience in construction, installation, the trades, facilities, foodservice equipment, or a related field is a plus. We also welcome candidates starting their careers or changing fields who can demonstrate the qualities above. Work Location and Travel This position is based in Farmingdale, New York, with frequent travel to jobsites throughout the continental United States, including overnight and extended stays. When not traveling, you will work from our Farmingdale office. Most jobsite work takes place on weekdays. Some projects require night or weekend work, depending on site access, installation schedules, and client needs. Learning and Growth You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and learn how our projects come together—from preparation and field coordination through opening and closeout. As you demonstrate your skills and readiness, there is opportunity to take on broader project responsibilities and grow toward a Project Manager role.
