About This Position
Hiring Range: $55,848.00 - $73,578.96/Year. It is anticipated that the hiring rate offered will be +/- the midpoint range depending on qualifications.
Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional who will assist with implementing Facility and Asset Management functions under the general supervision of the Asset Management Manager. The qualified individual will oversee the upkeep, maintenance and efficient operation of PCCA’s assets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conducts routine facility inspections, coordinate repair tasks, and oversee repairs to assets (facilities, equipment, and grounds)
- Schedules and coordinates with internal trades and external contractors on needed inspections and repairs to assets
- Manages projects, coordinates with vendors and contractors, and ensures that work is completed on time and within budget
- Effectively communicates with various stakeholders, including Port staff, contractors, and management, regarding facility-related matters
- Assists with the planning and execution of facility-related events and activities
- Oversees custodial staff, maintenance personnel and contractors on scheduled facility projects
- Ensures vendor compliance with relevant contracts, agreements, regulations, codes, and safety requirements
- Monitors project costs/spending and potentially contributing to cost analysis when evaluating new services
- Investigates new ideas for services and appliances to help with operations
- Participates in emergency preparedness planning and response
- CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified within the first year of employment
- Tier 2 status designation
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The preferred candidate for this position should be an organized, thorough, and disciplined individual with a focus on maintaining optimal integrity in support of the PCCA. They must possess the following:
EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; must have a minimum of four years of experience in the type of duties outlined in this description
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or business from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of one year of experience preferred in the type of duties outlined in this description
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employment
- Valid driver’s license

- Possesses knowledge of port facilities and maintains strong industry connections to support the formation and growth of strategic partners
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of contract administration and compliance

- Ability to define issues, perform research, evaluate alternatives and develop sound, independent conclusions and recommendations
- Ability to work well within a fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, and handling a multitude of projects and ever-changing priorities
- Must possess considerable judgment to safely and efficiently operate and maintain assigned equipment
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to respond to building and equipment emergencies
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, clients, customers, and the public
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders
- Must possess effective business communication utilizing correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Knowledgeable in Facilities Management software, such as CityWorks, UpKeep, and/or MaintainX preferred
- Familiar with Geographic Information System application and operation
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel, Outlook and other related applications
- Licensed to operate sUAS or ability to be licensed within one year of employment
- Maintain good employee relations and encourages and fosters a helpful environment where teamwork prevails. Assists senior management and office staff where appropriate
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined, climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp/handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
- Ability to work in a general office environment, with some exposure to the elements when visiting worksites
- Ability to operate light-weight highway vehicles and standard office equipment and to work the requisite hours to fulfill position objectives, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed
