Southwest Shipyard, LP provides gas freeing and cleaning services, steaming, and flaring services, Barge and boat repair, Surface preparation and painting, water treatment and new construction services to the commercial and government marine industry. Southwest Shipyard owns and operates four (4) shipyards in South Texas with direct deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient individual to assist with the setup and implementation of CCH Fixed Assets software. This temporary position combines responsibilities of both data input and database management, and is ideal for someone with experience in structured data environments, keen attention to detail, and a solid understanding of asset data workflows.

Position Type:

Temporary (Project-based, 4-6 months engagement)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • You enjoy organizing and structuring data.
  • You're comfortable juggling both manual data entry tasks and technical database functions.
  • You understand the importance of clean, validated data for accurate financial reporting.
  • You have the technical aptitude to learn or work within CCH Fixed Assets quickly and efficiently.

Work Schedule:

All employees are required to have regular attendance and punctuality.

Monday-Friday – Channelview Location – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the initial setup and configuration of the CCH Fixed Assets database.
  • Perform data entry and migration of existing asset data into the CCH system, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Create, modify, and maintain database tables and fields relevant to the asset tracking structure.
  • Ensure data validation and quality control during data input and migration processes.
  • Work closely with accounting or IT teams to ensure the database aligns with reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Generate test reports and queries to validate data integrity and software setup.
  • Provide documentation on data input procedures and any database structure changes made during implementation.
  • Support the troubleshooting of issues during setup and perform routine quality checks.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with CCH Fixed Assets software (or similar fixed asset management tools) preferred.
  • Proficiency in database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Microsoft Access.
  • Strong data entry skills, including typing accuracy and speed.
  • Understanding of data validation, cleansing, and integrity concepts.
  • Familiarity with Excel, CSV imports, and basic SQL querying.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently on short-term assignments.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years of previous experience.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another.
  • Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, climbing, or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back in the performance of work.
  • This position operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
