Portfolio Manager in Bowling Green, Kentucky at Farmers National Bank

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility for the PM position is to manage client portfolios in a prudent and diligent manner, following all applicable fiduciary standards, across both personal and institutional lines of business. In addition, this position will be a member of the Trust Investment Committee, responsible for an established book of business, assist in business development, and communicate the WealthSouth investment philosophy externally with clients and internally with colleagues.

Essential Functions:

1. Execute and develop investment strategies/investment policies.

2. Lead member in the Trust Investment Committee, weekly economic calls, investment strategy, direction and research.

3. Responsible for a book of business across all WS markets.

4. Provide research/analysis on client portfolios (Factset, Northern Trust, Morningstar, Fi360, etc.).

5. Work with team to develop new business by preparing investment management proposals.

6. Trade customized and modelled client portfolios in individual securities, mutual funds, and ETF’s.

7. Assists in communicating the investment philosophy/strategy to the market managers and wealth management division.

8. Research and select securities that are suitable for WealthSouth clients.

9. Serves as an internal investment consultant for the Administrative Officer.

10. Keeps current on all news relevant to fiduciary business as well as the market.

11. Reviews the buy list on a weekly basis and makes changes as needed.

12. Interpret trust or agency agreements and build portfolios to accomplish those goals

Other Responsibilities:

1. Attends and participates in the Trust Investment Committee and Trust Officer Committee.

2. Assists the Chief Investment Officer by presenting material that is current and useful for client interaction.

3. Performs job duties in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations including BSA.

4. Produces investment material that helps the market managers relay the philosophy to their employees as well as clients.

5. Creates proposals for potential clients in all different WealthSouth locations.

6. Participates in client meetings to communicate the philosophy.

7. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Physical demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to speak English and hear. The employee spends 90% of the day sitting at a desk. Occasionally, the employee will stand and walk (10%) of the day. The employee may be required to lift up to 20 pounds to perform their job.

Education, Experience and skills required:

1. Five years+ experience in money management and/or investment decision making.

2. College degree preferred. Economics, Business, and Finance helpful.

3. Industry certification(s) preferred, MBA, CFA or CFP.

4. Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

5. Ability to understand and promote sales in the banking culture.
