Description:

Arizona Home Care is seeking a detail-oriented Billing & Collections Specialist to join our revenue cycle team. In this role, you'll manage the full billing and collections cycle for assigned accounts — from claim submission through denial resolution and final payment — across our home health and home infusion service lines.

This position is ideal for someone with strong healthcare billing or collections experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and takes ownership of accounts through to resolution.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, in-office position
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Summary

The Billing & Collections Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely management of accounts receivable — including billing, collections, denial resolution, and account reconciliation — for Arizona Home Care (AHC) and Patient Care Infusion (PCI). This role ensures proper follow-up on outstanding balances, maintains accurate documentation, and supports financial performance through effective revenue cycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Manage and collect assigned accounts receivable balances
  • Perform proactive follow-up on outstanding claims with insurance payors
  • Work and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments
  • Communicate with payors to verify claim status and facilitate payment
  • Submit appeals, medical reviews, and supporting documentation as needed
  • Maintain accurate notes and documentation within the billing system
  • Track account status and maintain up-to-date collection activity

Billing & Denial Management

  • Review claims for accuracy and completeness prior to submission or follow-up
  • Identify root causes of denials and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with clinical and intake teams to resolve documentation issues impacting billing
  • Ensure timely submission and resubmission of claims

AR Monitoring & Financial Performance

  • Monitor aging reports and prioritize accounts for follow-up
  • Track key performance metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and delinquency rates
  • Maintain accurate reporting of collections activity and account status
  • Support achievement of monthly collection goals and revenue targets
  • Identify trends impacting reimbursement and escalate concerns

Compliance & Documentation

  • Document all account communications and activities accurately and timely
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, payor, and company financial information (HIPAA)
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, payer requirements, and billing regulations
  • Follow established billing policies, procedures, and audit protocols
Requirements:

Required:

  • Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or accounts receivable
  • Working knowledge of payer billing requirements, claims processes, and reimbursement workflows
  • Comfort working within AR/billing software systems and payer portals
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred:

  • Experience with home health or home infusion billing
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid (Arizona), and managed care claim requirements
  • Experience with EMR/EHR or agency billing platforms
