Job Description
Position summary: The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator (RN) reports to Trauma Program Manager and provides coordination, analysis, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes as it relates to the Trauma Performance Improvement Plan.This individual supports the Trauma program in assuring that all local and national standards are met according to American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT), Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Systems(LACEMS), National Trauma Data Base (NTDB) and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP). Responsible for the implementation of Trauma registry related activities. Performs data validation and synthesizes reports for application in performance improvement initiatives, research and injury prevention activities. Performs routine clinical rounds and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in the care of Trauma patients while augmenting the quality and quantity of the performance improvement for the Trauma program. Routine contacts may include but not limited to: medical and surgical physicians participating the care of the Trauma patient; EMS field personnel; health information system personnel, including those from other hospitals; technical and support service staff, and members of the local and regional committees that are participants in various levels of the performance improvement plan. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of acute care hospital experience in Trauma Systems or related Performance Improvement role. Proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, data systems and networks which support the collection and analysis of clinical data; can demonstrate positive interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital associates and external providers. Development and presentation of clinical and benchmark reports.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree or higher in a healthcare-related field. CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) or able to obtain within one (1) year of hire; TCRN(Trauma Certified Registered Nurse); TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum). Prior supervision/leadership experience. Progressive growth and development in the field of Performance Improvement. Proficiency in Trauma registry management, report generation, and presentation.
Salary range: $64.36 - $90.57
