Statement of Learning Outcomes for FWS Student Employees:

• Students do shifts Mon-Fri in varied areas, main office, labs
• Perform varied tasks: answer phone (main office), make prints for instructors, collate, type, file, etc.
• These funds help students who need an income while attending MCC or to complete their Internship for their program.

Function of Position:

The students learn to be timely, account for their actions, and perform small duties and earn an income while attending MCC.

This position is funded exclusively through Federal Work Study (FWS). Applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office for FWS eligibility prior to being considered for employment. If you are unsure of your FWS eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying. Applicants must include their M# in any correspondence with the Financial Aid Office.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

• Answer phones
• Make copies
• Perform functions for Instructors as requested (collating, typing papers, etc.), fill copier with paper, distribute USPS mail in mailboxes, direct students to advisers, varied office tasks.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled as a student at Monroe Community College
• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing
• Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS-funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire)
• Able to answer phones and speak with incoming people in the office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Additional Information:

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours/week
