The Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual lathes to produce high-quality pipe and piping components. This role ensures products meet quality standards while supporting safe, efficient production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual lathes to machine pipe and piping components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following OSHA and company safety standards.
- Accurately document production activities and completed work.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience operating manual lathes or similar machining equipment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and precision measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine machine maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
