Position Title: Massage Therapist
Reports To: Spa Manager

Shift: Varies
Role: The Massage Therapist delivers exceptional spa services while upholding JW Marriott standards of etiquette and professionalism. This role provides personalized treatments, anticipates guest needs, and addresses concerns to ensure an outstanding experience. Responsibilities include adhering to Spa Aquae protocols, promoting additional services and retail products, and meeting sales goals for treatments and retail. The position requires maintaining current knowledge of spa offerings, pricing, and specials, and consistently seeking opportunities to enhance guest experiences. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Education: Certified Massage Therapist
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in Massage Therapy within a luxury spa, salon, or comparable high-end guest service environment.
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences, including personalized treatments and professional consultations.
- Demonstrated success in retail sales and product recommendations to enhance client satisfaction and revenue.
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and business information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage appointments and treatment schedules effectively.
- Skilled at multi-tasking in a fast-paced spa environment while maintaining high service standards.
- Personable, professional, and team-oriented, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Knowledge of spa and skincare products, with ability to make personalized recommendations and drive retail sales.
- Competence in sanitation and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe treatment environment.
- Adaptable to schedule changes, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience in a luxury spa or high-end salon environment.
- Advanced certifications in specialized massage techniques (e.g., deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy) or advanced skincare treatments.
- Familiarity with spa booking and POS software for efficient scheduling and transactions.
- Proven ability to upsell services and retail products to enhance guest experience and revenue.
- Knowledge of current wellness trends, skincare products, and therapeutic practices.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills for diverse clientele.
Required Work Cards needed:
- Valid Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy License
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Provide guests with a thorough and knowledgeable range of spa services, using professional draping techniques.
- Advise all incoming guests of treatment procedures and special instructions.
- Provide explanation for all spa techniques and treatments used.
- Provide respect, sensitivity, and concern for guests’ needs with a professional and pleasant manner.
- Practice Enhanced Sanitation Guidelines, established by the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology and Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy, while dealing with guests and co-workers.
- Provide the range of services within the positions scope of responsibility to the standard, as set by Spa Aquae. Treatments include but are not limited to Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Hot Stone massage, prenatal massage, Sports massage with the ability to produce the highest level of service by providing the most current information and techniques per treatment and department protocol.
- Ensure all professional stock used follows the correct company PAR levels to assist with reduction in product waste.
- Attend regularly scheduled product knowledge training classes, attend all staff meetings.
- Ensure that you have the necessary skills to perform assigned duties.
- Strive to consistently produce a minimum of 15% in retail sales per day / week / month.
- Promote and upsell service treatments and enhancements.
- Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
