Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant Manufacturing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant – Manufacturing based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to help transform manufacturing organizations by identifying operational challenges, designing improvement strategies, and driving measurable business outcomes.
You will work directly with clients across the manufacturing sector, partnering with leaders from executive teams to frontline operations.
The position combines consulting expertise, data-driven analysis, lean manufacturing principles, and strategic problem-solving to deliver lasting improvements.
You will lead complex engagements focused on operational excellence, growth, and long-term sustainability.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Continuous Improvement Consultant will manage client engagements focused on operational improvement, strategic execution, and manufacturing transformation. This role requires strong consulting skills, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions that create measurable value.

  • Manage a portfolio of operational, strategic, market research, and data management consulting engagements.
  • Act as the primary client-facing consultant, building trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging from executive leadership to plant-floor teams.
  • Conduct on-site assessments, workshops, and strategic sessions to identify opportunities and support successful implementation.
  • Analyze operational challenges, develop improvement plans, and drive initiatives that enhance performance and sustainability.
  • Apply data-driven problem-solving methodologies to evaluate issues and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Present findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership teams and boards of directors.
  • Support clients with strategic planning, execution, measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to business growth by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Mentor and coach associates and clients to support capability development and organizational improvement.
  • Travel regularly to client locations, approximately 75% of the time, to support in-person consulting engagements.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, or strategic consulting, with the ability to lead client initiatives and deliver impactful recommendations. Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and leadership presence are essential.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations and/or strategic consulting environments.
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Quick Changeover, Standard Work, and related practices is preferred.
  • Strong research, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly assess business situations, extract relevant information, and develop creative problem-solving approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and influence others.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing priorities, and taking ownership of projects and schedules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for client engagements.
