Application Support Developer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Application Support Developer in Canada.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional to join a dynamic technology environment focused on delivering reliable and scalable application support solutions. In this role, you will combine development expertise with hands-on production support responsibilities to ensure business-critical applications operate efficiently and securely. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and offshore partners to troubleshoot issues, enhance system performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The position offers exposure to enterprise platforms, modern development practices, and complex operational workflows within a fast-paced financial services environment. Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers with strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative settings. This fully remote role provides flexibility while allowing you to make a direct impact on application reliability and customer experience.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide technical support for enterprise applications, ensuring incidents, service requests, and production issues are resolved efficiently and accurately.
  • Monitor and manage ticket queues while maintaining high service quality standards and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and remediate application defects, system disruptions, and performance issues across production environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance application solutions to support evolving business and client requirements.
  • Support application deployments, systems integrations, and infrastructure maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with development teams, offshore support teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver stable and scalable solutions.
  • Update technical documentation, support procedures, and operational guidelines to reflect current systems and processes.
  • Contribute to risk management efforts by proactively identifying technical concerns and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by taking ownership of issues and ensuring positive user experiences.
  • Support Agile and DevOps practices while participating in continuous improvement initiatives across systems and workflows.
Requirements:
  • College degree or equivalent practical experience in software development, application support, or related technical fields.
  • 3–5 years of experience in application support, software development, or enterprise systems environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Appian platform components including records, process models, integrations, SAIL interfaces, and workflow configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL (Oracle), Java, REST APIs, ETL processes, Power BI, Talend, and data warehouse technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, along with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Java Spring Boot, Ctrl-M, and enterprise workflow automation solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, AWS, Angular, Salesforce, SFTP, or low-code/no-code platforms is considered an asset.
