You’re an experienced family law attorney, and you know the work is about more than the law. Clients come to you at the hardest point in their lives. They need someone steady, honest and on their side.

January Family Law, LLC is a remote-first firm dedicated to family law serving the Chicago area, including Cook, Lake, DuPage and Will Counties. We help people through divorce, parenting disputes, prenuptial agreements and other family law matters. We’re growing, and we want an experienced attorney to grow with us.

$97,500 - $120,000 yearly

• Represent clients in divorce, parenting time and allocation of parental responsibilities, child support, maintenance and parentage matters.

• Draft and advise on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

• Handle property division, including real estate and retirement assets.

• Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, judgments and orders.

• Negotiate settlements and represent clients at hearings, mediations and trial.

• Keep clients informed with proactive updates, and meet every court and filing deadline.

• Handle sensitive matters, including domestic violence and child-related concerns, calmly and professionally.

• Keep case notes, tasks and deadlines current in our case management system, Smokeball.

• A J.D. from an accredited law school.

• An active Illinois license in good standing, or eligibility for admission in Illinois.

• At least 2 years of family law experience at a law firm, including contested matters and court appearances.

• A record of advocating for both petitioners and respondents.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to stay calm when emotions run high.

• Willingness to appear in person at hearings and trials as needed.

• A plus: experience in Cook County and collar county domestic relations courts.
