About the Role
The Director of Yoga & Fitness will provide nationwide support for our 13 gyms, leading and guiding Bouldering Project’s yoga and fitness offerings to ensure they remain best-in-class. This role involves defining what an exceptional group fitness experience looks like at BP, drawing on our internal playbook and continuously evolving it to maintain both consistency and innovation across all markets. The Director will work closely with local Yoga & Fitness leaders, cross-functional support teams, and broader Operations leadership to drive success.
What You’ll Do
Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Define, maintain, and evolve Bouldering Project’s national yoga and fitness playbook, establishing clear standards for class quality, instructor experience, and member engagement across all locations
- Provide strategic leadership and support to local Yoga & Fitness Managers and leaders across all markets, ensuring consistency while honoring local community needs
- Partner with Operations, Product, and Programming teams to design and implement seasonal programming, pilots, and initiatives that align with BP’s brand and values
- Oversee instructor lifecycle best practices, including hiring standards, onboarding frameworks, ongoing education, performance feedback, and retention strategies
- Develop tools, resources, and training materials to support instructor development and leadership growth at the local level
- Collaborate with General Managers and regional leaders to support staffing models, schedule optimization, and coverage strategies
- Establish and monitor key success indicators for yoga and fitness programs, using feedback and data to continuously improve offerings
- Serve as a cultural ambassador for yoga and fitness within BP, modeling inclusive leadership and representing the program in cross-functional conversations
- Travel regularly to Bouldering Project locations to observe classes, coach leaders and instructors, support launches, and strengthen cross-market alignment
- Stay current on industry trends in yoga, group fitness, and wellness, bringing forward new ideas while maintaining operational excellence
- Support new gym program development, training, and launch
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing a multi-gym yoga and/or fitness program
- 5+ years of leadership experience in yoga/fitness programming
- In-depth knowledge of yoga, group fitness, and wellness practices
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Ability to travel approximately 25–40% of the time after initial onboarding period
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching and managing yoga at Bouldering Project or similar organization
- Completion of Yoga Teacher Training (200hr+ preferred)
- Experience developing instructor training programs
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence across teams
- Experience working in a mission-driven or community-based organization

This role may require a flexible schedule, including availability during evenings, weekends, or outside standard business hours depending on programming and business needs. The Director of Yoga and Fitness is also expected to travel to each Bouldering Project location a minimum of twice per year, or more frequently as needed, to support class development, staff training, and cross-market alignment.
