Food Runner in Royal Oak, Michigan at Kruse and Muer Restaurants

We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and guest-focused Food Runner to join our front-of-house team! Food Runners play a critical role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by ensuring food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and with proper presentation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and takes pride in supporting both the kitchen and dining room teams.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver food to guests promptly while ensuring accuracy, quality, and presentation standards are met.
• Verify orders before leaving the kitchen and communicate with the culinary team regarding any discrepancies.
• Describe menu items to guests when delivering food and answer basic questions regarding dishes.
• Monitor tables to ensure guests have everything they need and communicate additional requests to the appropriate server.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the expo line, service stations, and dining room.
• Support servers by pre-bussing tables, refilling water, and assisting with guest needs when appropriate.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff, servers, hosts, and management to ensure efficient and seamless service.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain a sense of urgency while delivering exceptional hospitality throughout every shift.

Qualifications:

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and carry trays weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
