Cloud Engineer in Fort Meade, Maryland at Nortex Cyber Solutions

LOCATION: This will be a hybrid position based out of Maryland

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications. This role focuses on building scalable, automated cloud environments while improving deployment reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services.

· Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.

· Configure and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

· Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

· Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security.

· Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.

· Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.

· Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment and reliability.

· Develop and maintain technical documentation for cloud environments.

· Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity initiatives.

· Ensure cloud environments meet security and compliance requirements.

Skills

· Experience supporting Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

· Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Azure Bicep, or AWS CloudFormation.

· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

· Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

· Familiarity with Linux system administration.

· Understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud architecture.

· Experience using Git or similar version control systems.

· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

· Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Education & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 5-6 years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and deployments preferred.

· Experience supporting production cloud environments.

· Experience supporting government or Department of Defense programs is preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.

· Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.

· Ability to communicate effectively in person and through virtual collaboration tools.
