Job Summary:
The Front Office Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the front desk department, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient check-in/check-out process, and effective resolution of guest concerns. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong leadership ability, and a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the front desk team, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance support of Front Desk Agents.
- Ensure all guests receive a professional, welcoming, and efficient check-in and check-out experience in accordance with hotel standards.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, concerns, complaints, and special requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Motivate, mentor, and support front office staff in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Monitor front desk operations to ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, workflow, and overall guest experience.
- Serve as the primary liaison between guests and various hotel departments to ensure guest needs and expectations are met.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to address guest requests and operational requirements in a timely manner.
- Handle escalated guest concerns, emergencies, and difficult situations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Maintain accurate records of guest interactions, financial transactions, incidents, and operational activities, and prepare required reports for management.
- Assist with cash handling, balancing reports, and ensuring accuracy of billing and payment transactions.
- Support management in implementing hotel initiatives, policies, and operational procedures.
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and maintained in a professional manner at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in front desk or guest services role in a hotel or resort setting with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in using Opera and Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Dakota Dunes Resort is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
