Business Operations Specialist
Salary Grade: G07
Minimum Midpoint Maximum
$73,060 - $96,804 - $120,548
SUMMARY:
Designs and oversees process integrity of major business models for Regional Operations. Develops business planning templates, analyzes and reports O&M Budget in excess of $14 million and Capital Budget in excess of $7 million, provides a centralized information resource for operational, major projects, and personnel information measures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and develops business plan templates, aggregating the area plans into a Regional Strategic plan and performance criteria.
Ensures strategies are established to attain specified objectives, and provides consolidated status and issue reports.
Develops business planning templates, analyzes and reports O&M Budget in excess of $14 million and Capital Budget in excess of $7 million.
Establishes and maintains the budget and reporting manual for Regional Operations to ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting.
Performs analysis to justify variances, maintains FERC activity based accounting structure for determining costs and transactions.
Prepares reports necessary for strategic and tactical understanding by the Regional Management Team.
Provides assistance to Director in personnel actions.

A strong knowledge of negotiating, organizational development, change management, finance, accounting, and project management.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with five to seven years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of MS Office software, as well as Company systems such as SCOP, OASYS and RezLogic.
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Some travel required.
