Job Description
JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
This individual will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement functions on plant equipment and machinery with limited direction and guidance. Areas of responsibility will include all facets of the production environment as well as facility’s maintenance, HVAC, hydraulics and electrical work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ownership of the preventative maintenance program.
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC lathes, mills, hobbing equipment, saws, etc.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to expedite projects and material needs as required.
- Update and track machine repair in systems database.
- Maintain a sense of urgency, self-motivation and overall good work ethic while operating in a safe manner.
- Adherence to LOTO procedures.
- Recommend improvements to current maintenance processes and activities.
- Fabricate and implement tooling and fixturing
- Monitor levels of perishable tooling and make recommendations to maintenance supervisor

COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of practices used in CNC and mechanical machine diagnostics and repair, as well as building, electrical or mechanical trades required
- Must be able to read and understand diagrams, schematics, engineering prints and manuals for mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Must possess basic fabrication techniques that would be used in machine repair.
- Must be able to use electrical test equipment to identify, analyze, and resolve electrical problems.
- Must possess a “strong hands-on” attitude and knowledge of electrical, electronic, PLC controls and computerized components of CNC and manual machines.
- PLC trouble shooting and reading
- Welding and use of cutting torches
- Ability to perform light fabrication
- Ability to read ladder logic
- Ability to work autonomously
- CNC programing and operation
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- Performs repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, and upper body while packing, unpacking, loading, and unloading shipped goods and printed inventory.
- Requires dexterity of fingers to gather and pack items for shipment and enter data into computer.
- On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
- The employee must occasionally lift to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements:- Must have 3 years of maintenance troubleshooting and repair experience.
- 1 year post high school education/training in electronics
- 1 credit welding post high school a plus
- Post high school formal training in fabrication a plus
- Specific knowledge of Fanuc controls and Haas is desired.
- Extensive electrical troubleshooting experience
- Certified electrician a plus
- Prior work experience in, paper machines, CNC’s, printing presses and/or other manufacturing processing machines a plus.
- Computer literate in Windows
- Basic welding knowledge
- Forklift operating certification a plus
