YOUR ROLE

Position Overview: The Designer specializing in ALUR demountable walls plays a pivotal role in delivering innovative, functional, and sustainable design solutions across corporate, healthcare, and higher education markets. This role requires a balance of creativity and technical precision, focusing on the development of demountable wall systems that enhance flexibility, performance, and aesthetics within dynamic environments. The Designer collaborates closely with internal sales teams, leadership, account managers, project managers, general contractors, and architects to translate design concepts into solutions that meet evolving workplace needs, comply with regulations, and integrate seamlessly into the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Design & Execution

• Create design concepts and detailed layouts for ALUR demountable wall systems tailored to corporate, healthcare, and higher education environments.
• Produce accurate CAD drawings, 3D models, specifications, and product cut sheets that clearly communicate design intent and system requirements.
• Apply knowledge of ALUR product lines, including frameless glass walls, sliding and hinged doors, acoustic solutions, and modular adaptability.
• Ensure all designs align with applicable building codes, ADA, HIPAA, and healthcare-specific regulations.
• Review field conditions and verify site measurements to ensure precision in design and installation.
• Oversee implementation of design intent by collaborating with installers, ensuring accurate execution and quality standards are met.

Client Engagement & Satisfaction

• Serve as a trusted design partner to general contractors, A&D firms, and clients, engaging early to understand their functional, aesthetic, and budgetary needs.
• Present concepts and technical solutions in a clear, compelling manner to both design-savvy and non-technical stakeholders.
• Customize solutions to address unique client requirements while balancing project constraints and objectives.
• Coordinate with general contractors to anticipate and resolve field conditions impacting design execution.
• Attend OAC meetings in person or virtually as required.

• Partner with leadership, account managers, and project managers to deliver seamless project execution from concept through completion.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and ALUR representatives to ensure integration with other building systems and construction processes.
• Work cross-functionally with sales, design, and project management teams to align solutions with client goals and organizational standards.
• Act as a liaison between internal departments and external partners, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
• Communicate design concepts clearly through drawings, presentations, and written documentation tailored to diverse audiences.
• Facilitate regular project updates and design reviews to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
• Anticipate and resolve communication gaps between stakeholders to ensure clarity of expectations and responsibilities.

Technical Expertise & Innovation

• Apply deep knowledge of ALUR systems and installation requirements, interpreting technical manuals and system specifications accurately.
• Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in demountable wall systems.
• Integrate sustainable design practices and green building standards (e.g., LEED), highlighting how ALUR products contribute to environmental goals.

• Deliver design accuracy with minimal revisions required due to precision in drawings, specifications, and documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience designing demountable walls, with specific knowledge of ALUR systems strongly preferred.
• Proven experience collaborating with architects, contractors, installers, and cross-functional internal teams on complex projects.
• Familiarity with healthcare, corporate, and higher education environments where demountable walls are implemented.

Skills & Competencies

• Demonstrates technical proficiency through expertise in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and 3D modeling/visualization tools (SketchUp, Rhino, etc.).
• Applies design expertise with a strong understanding of spatial planning, ergonomics, aesthetics, and functionality in workplace and healthcare settings.
• Brings regulatory knowledge with familiarity in healthcare-specific requirements including HIPAA, infection prevention, acoustic performance, and ADA.
• Excels in communication skills with the ability to present design concepts effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Maintains strong detail orientation with meticulous attention to design accuracy and execution.
• Utilizes problem-solving abilities to resolve design challenges creatively and efficiently within constraints.
