JobSummary:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the management,development and implementation of the engineering and design requirements forthe project. The project engineer coordinates with all disciplines toinsure an integrated design meeting the project requirements. This alsoincludes coordinating with and directing Engineers, Project Controls, DocumentControl, Designers and Drafters to accomplish their tasks.

JobDuties and Responsibilities:

Provides direction to lead discipline engineers;

Establishes or manages detailed project design, andengineering scope of work;

Establishes or assists in establishing thedetailed project execution plan and development of the overall engineeringbudget and schedule;

Reviews and approves design documents, changeorders, material requisitions and specifications for construction orprocurement use;

Supervises preparation of, reviews and endorsesbid analyses and recommendations for procurement of equipment material andservices within engineering scope of responsibility;

Resolves field-initiated questions onengineering;

Performs and manages the work in accordance withrelevant Engineering Department Procedures, design guides and ApplicationPrograms;

Undertakes design co-ordination meetings withconstruction at various phases of the project;

Interacts with client on all engineering andtechnical matters;

Assists in proposals, in technical matters, costestimation etc. during business development phase of projects.

Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Bachelors degree in Engineering from anaccredited university;

Minimum of ten (10) years engineeringexperience in offshore, upstream or midstream oil and gas;

Technical hands-on knowledge of relatedengineering systems, engineering calculations, application of engineering andconstruction methods and materials, and engineering application of computersoftware specially related to complexities of upstream and offshore facilitiesof all types;

Strong knowledge of project engineeringprocesses and procedures;

Demonstrated experience performing engineeringfor Conceptual Studies, FEED, and Detailed Engineering;

Demonstrated experience in engineering design oflarge modularized facilities;

Strong knowledge of relatedfabrication/construction/installation practices and economics and currentknowledge of new methods of design and construction;

Strong knowledge of industry / regulatory codesand standards.

WorkingConditions:

Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but may require occasional travelto off-site work locations;

Field duties may require outdoor work in aplant fabrication, or offshore platform atmosphere;

Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;

Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;

Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;

May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;

May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20) pounds;
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
