Job Description

About Voxel
Voxel Innovations unlocks next-generation performance through Electrochemical Machining (ECM) to rapidly and precisely shape specialty metal alloys for aerospace, energy, industrial, medical, and semiconductor customers. Our team owns every step of the technology life cycle from initial research to production under one roof. We are looking for in-house HR who will build and own the function from the ground up, directly shaping the employee experience for a growing advanced manufacturing company.

The Role
As the HR Generalist,
you will serve as Voxel's primary in-house HR resource, owning full-cycle recruiting, new hire onboarding, and day-to-day HR administration. Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, you will partner closely with leaders across Engineering, Production, and G&A to source and hire top talent, deliver a smooth and consistent onboarding experience, and maintain accurate, compliant HR records and processes. Your role is instrumental to Voxel’s success to build a team of high performers (it’s not just compliance tasks and looking at resumes). You will also support broader people initiatives, including the Voxel Compensation Playbook and benefits administration, while working alongside Voxel's outsourced HR/consulting partners as needed. This position is full-time based in Knightdale, NC.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail oriented and highly organized. They will excel at communication and building relationships across our team, while maintaining discretion and confidentiality. We're looking for individuals who enjoy learning about our processes so they can support our hiring and team needs. They align with Voxel’s Core Values: Expect Excellence, Do Right By Others, Always Getting Better, What Would Happen If…

Job Description

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting across all departments, from sourcing and screening through off extension
  • Leverage alternate sourcing strategies tailored to the role being filled
  • Lead new hire onboarding to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data (e.g., Gusto) in compliance with federal and state laws
  • Act as primary point of contact for employee questions related to benefits, policies, PTO, and general HR matters
  • Support performance management processes, including tracking review cycles and maintaining documentation
  • Partner with department leaders on workforce planning, compensation and team structures
  • Develop programs and initiatives (such as internships and outreach campaigns)
  • Assist with administration of compensation, benefits, and compliance programs developed through Voxel's ongoing People Operations initiatives
  • Help leadership maintain documentation (such as job descriptions and the accountability chart)
  • Support a positive employee experience and reinforce Voxel's core values
  • Escalate complex employee relations, compliance, or legal matters to leadership and outside HR/legal counsel as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 2-5 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or a related administrative role, ideally within a small or mid-sized company
  • Familiarity with HRIS/payroll platforms (e.g., Gusto) and applicant tracking tools (e.g. JazzHR)
  • Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals (FLSA, EEO, leave requirements)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or technical environments a plus
  • Experience with rapidly scaling teams or hourly workers, including 24/7 operations, a plus
  • MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Due to U.S. government contract requirements, all employees must be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with a valid I-551 card (green card). Work Visas are not acceptable. Employment eligibility will be verified as part of the hiring process.
  • Submittal of a cover letter describing why you are interested in working at Voxel and our mission.
What Success Looks Like
  • Reduce average time-to-fill for open roles
  • Deliver a consistent, positive onboarding experience for all new hires
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR records and processes
  • Serve as a trusted, responsive resource for employees and leadership on HR matters
  • Support the successful rollout and ongoing administration of Voxel's Compensation Playbook and related People Operations initiatives
Who Thrives at Voxel?
The people who are most successful at Voxel are curious, enjoy solving difficult problems, and take pride in mastering complex processes. They take ownership of their work, embrace accountability, and continually look for ways to improve themselves, their teammates, and the company. They value quality over shortcuts, collaboration over individual recognition, and live our core values when tackling new challenges.

Voxel Core Values
  • Expect Excellence Details matter. Whether it's the quality of our parts, the organization of our workspaces, or the documentation that supports our products, excellence is the standard—not the exception. We hold ourselves accountable, own our work, and continually strive to exceed customer expectations. When something goes wrong, we take responsibility, learn from it, and make it right.
  • Do Right By Others We expect every employee to contribute technically to the success of the team. We believe the best ideas come from collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a willingness to help wherever needed. We succeed together by teaching, learning, and supporting one another.
  • Always Getting Better Continuous improvement happens at three levels—personal, process, and company. We challenge ideas with facts, not opinions, continually expand our technical knowledge, and take initiative to improve the way we manufacture.
  • What Would Happen If...? Innovation begins with curiosity. We ask questions, challenge assumptions, and pursue solutions others haven't considered. We aren't afraid to try difficult things, learn from failure, and continually expand the capabilities of ECM manufacturing.
