Job Description

Product Manager, Clearing Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager, Clearing Systems based in Canada.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on building the next generation of brokerage and clearing infrastructure.
You will own the product lifecycle for systems spanning clearing, custody, ledgers, settlement, asset movement, and regulatory books and records.
The role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, operations, finance, compliance, risk, and regulatory infrastructure.
You will help design scalable systems capable of supporting multiple asset classes, currencies, account types, trading models, and global markets.
The position calls for a highly technical product leader who can navigate ambiguity, prototype solutions, and translate complex financial requirements into robust systems.
You will work in a fast-growing, globally distributed environment where product decisions have direct impact on scalability, reliability, and regulatory readiness.
This is an opportunity to shape foundational financial infrastructure while helping modernize how brokerage and clearing systems operate at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the product strategy, architecture, and lifecycle for core clearing infrastructure spanning accounts, positions, balances, ledgers, journals, settlements, stock records, and regulatory books and records.
  • Design and evolve multi-currency cash and position systems supporting a broad range of asset classes, including equities, FX, fractional shares, options, bonds, Treasuries, fixed income, and mutual funds.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to prototype, design, and build scalable clearing services, reducing reliance on traditional third-party service-bureau workflows where appropriate.
  • Translate complex clearing, custody, regulatory, and operational requirements into clear product strategies, technical requirements, system designs, and delivery priorities.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, finance, treasury, compliance, legal, risk, and product teams to ensure clearing infrastructure is scalable, controlled, resilient, and regulator-ready.
  • Develop systems and processes that support accurate reconciliation, settlement, asset movement, custody, cash management, and regulatory controls.
  • Help evolve the platform from primarily U.S.-focused brokerage infrastructure toward a global, multi-asset, multi-currency clearing architecture.
  • Lead senior teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders, balancing risk, operational efficiency, capital requirements, technical feasibility, timelines, and budget.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize processes and infrastructure while maintaining high standards for reliability, compliance, and operational integrity.
  • Provide strong product leadership in ambiguous and technically complex environments, moving initiatives from problem definition and prototyping through production implementation.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in brokerage, clearing, custody, prime brokerage, trading infrastructure, financial market infrastructure, capital markets technology, or a closely related domain.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, technical program management, or engineering focused on brokerage, clearing, post-trade, or financial infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one major clearing domain, such as settlement and stock record, books and records, corporate actions, margin, ACATS, or DTCC processing.
  • Strong technical depth and the ability to work directly with engineers to translate complex financial and regulatory requirements into scalable system architectures.
  • Experience operating within regulated broker-dealer environments and collaborating effectively with Compliance, Legal, Operations, Risk, and other control functions.
  • Strong understanding of clearing, custody, ledgers, settlement, asset movement, reconciliation, and related brokerage infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead senior teams, influence without formal authority, and drive execution across multiple functions.
  • Strong operating judgment, with the ability to balance risk, operational efficiency, capital allocation, technology feasibility, time, and budget.
  • Experience with global brokerage expansion, international equities, FX, local-market custody, omnibus models, sub-ledgers, or currency controls is highly valuable.
  • Experience building, converting, or modernizing corporate-action processing, security master systems, or self-clearing back-office infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with correspondent, broker-as-a-service, or B2B2C financial models is a plus.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or custom agents for product documentation, data exploration, incident analysis, prototyping, or workflow improvement is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed environment while demonstrating curiosity, empathy, accountability, and strong ownership.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and stock options.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • $500 USD one-time home-office setup allowance for new hires.
  • $150 USD monthly stipend through a Brex Card.
  • Opportunity to work within a globally distributed, technology-driven environment.
  • Exposure to complex financial infrastructure and large-scale brokerage, clearing, and capital markets initiatives.
  • Opportunity to contribute to modernizing financial services infrastructure and building products with global reach.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to building a diverse and high-performing team.
