Position Title: Maintenance Machinist

Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Preventative Maintenance Technician for our Molding Department. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of molding equipment by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to minimizing production downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
• Preventative Maintenance:
o Inspect equipment for irregularities.
o Grease bearings, and ball screws
o Ensure that chain guards, and rollers are in good working condition
o Inspect and replace machine components, such as seals, nozzles, sensors, and chain drives as needed.
• Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair:
o Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on molding equipment to minimize downtime.
o Respond promptly to equipment failures and collaborate with production and engineering teams to address issues efficiently.
• Documentation & Reporting:
o Maintain detailed maintenance logs, including service history, parts replacements, and equipment performance data.
o Provide feedback and recommendations to improve maintenance strategies and machine performance.
• Safety Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during maintenance activities.
o Conduct safety checks on equipment and report any hazards or concerns.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Identify opportunities to optimize machine efficiency and reduce equipment wear through process improvements.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement maintenance best practices.
• Spare Parts Management:
o Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate orders to maintain necessary stock levels.
o Maintain an organized and efficient parts storage system.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Technical degree or certification preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in preventative maintenance for molding equipment (injection or compression molding preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, bending, and kneeling in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
