Description

This position functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and is responsible for the medical oversight of clientele and assures a therapeutic milieu.

DUTIES

Facilitates the admission of new patients by initiation of physician orders, assessments and other procedures for the comfort and well being of patients.

Gathers information on all potential clients to determine need for detox level of care.

Gathers information and makes observations relevant to patient conditions, and contributes to the development of treatment plans.

Prioritizes and implements a plan of treatment of care for patients assigned.

Administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by physician and in compliance with patient self administration of medication policy. Monitors Mental Health Technicians oversight of same.

Observes patients for reaction to drugs, detoxification symptoms, medical concerns, or any other unusual condition, and reports findings to physician. Completes documentation per policy.

Assists in examinations of patients and diagnostic procedures.

Assists in teaching and planning for patients care and post treatment care.

Provides medication education, special presentations, and other teachings as indicated.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed in the state of Texas, CPR certified. Working knowledge of mental health and addictions preferred.
