Maintenance Technician at Northern Manufacturing Co. – Oak Harbor, Ohio

Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a motivated and hard working individual to join our Maintenance team. The Maintenance Technician performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support the company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance supervisor and team members with maintenance and installation of production equipment.
• Work with general laborers and guide with mechanical assembly for any customer projects including but not limited to gear boxes, motors, etc.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical problems and develop systems and procedures to avoid reoccurrences.
• Respond in a timely manner to plant equipment breakdowns; repair down equipment, rebuild and replace any defective parts or components. Proactively identify and correct issues, referencing the equipment manual as needed.
• Strive to minimize plant down time by prioritizing equipment emergencies and maximizing productivity.
• Complete ongoing preventative maintenance.
• Facility and grounds maintenance and repairs, including outdoor exposure (i.e., snow removal, equipment storage, working at heights, etc.).
• Fleet vehicle maintenance and daily safety checks.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• 1 year experience in a maintenance position within an industrial environment preferred.
• 1 years experience with high and low voltage electricity in an industrial environment preferred.
• Excellent internal customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter with a solution-focused approach to problems.
• Strong team member, supporting coworkers within all departments.
• Ability to work independently.
• Well-organized and the ability to prioritize tasks.
