The Maintenance Mechanic role is a diverse role providing support to the organization in mechanical, electro-mechanical machining, electrical and serving as a maintainer in a manufacturing facility. When serving in this position, an individual could have diverse tasks and responsibilities based in all these technician roles given the daily operational needs. Individual must have some applicable skills and be willing to learn skills necessary to support all the areas as better explained below. These roles provide support to the engineering teams to check equipment, operating systems by correcting machining issues and applying preventative maintenance requirements to avoid downtime. The role ensures the performance of all Company mechanical products, machinery and equipment performs optimally while additionally assisting engineers with analyzing performance results.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support installation, modification, and commissioning of new and existing equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems, while coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including motors, motor controls, sensors, relays, and control circuits.
- Install, wire, and maintain electrical components, panels, and control systems in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery, facility electrical systems, pumps, conveyors, and production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems, and electromechanical devices, identifying faults in wiring, programming, or hardware.
- Build, install, calibrate, and repair machinery, pumps, conveyors, motors, and related equipment.
- Fabricate, assemble, and modify mechanical and electrical components; read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Inspect, test, and verify equipment functionality using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Identify and correct electrical wiring issues, programming errors, or equipment malfunctions to reduce downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and inspection documentation.
- Operate and maintain high-pressure systems, pumps, and auxiliary equipment to support reliable production operations.
- Implement process improvements by adjusting machinery settings and recommending upgrades to equipment or controls.
- Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, and regulatory standards including OSHA, NEC, and applicable company policies.
- Participate in emergency maintenance responses and assist with facility repairs as required.
- Train and assist co-workers in the safe operation of machinery and basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Education & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including electrical troubleshooting and repair (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Preferred: Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field, or 4+ years of maintenance technician experience.
- Experience with electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, automation equipment, and preventive maintenance programs strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, wiring, motor controls, and automation equipment.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a team environment.
Computer/Software Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with industrial automation software, PLC interfaces, HMI systems, and maintenance tracking software preferred.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing ladders or stairs is required. Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed. The role requires manual dexterity, use of hand and power tools, electrical testing equipment, and computer devices.
Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed footwear.
