Field Geology Coordinator

Donlin Gold – Western Alaska

Join One of the World’s Largest Undeveloped Gold Deposits

Donlin Gold is seeking a motivated, organized, and safety-focused Field Geology Coordinator to join our Exploration team in Western Alaska. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s largest undeveloped gold deposits while supporting large-scale exploration and drilling programs in a remote field environment.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist, the Field Geology Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating field activities and monitoring drilling operations to ensure exploration programs are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives. This position serves as a key link between field operations, geological teams, and drilling personnel while helping maintain operational efficiency and supporting successful project execution.

What You'll Do

Field Operations Coordination

  • Support and coordinate daily exploration field activities and operational priorities
  • Conduct and support lineout meetings and daily planning discussions
  • Coordinate work assignments and field crew activities
  • Ensure completion of Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs)
  • Assist with employee timekeeping and operational tracking
  • Support field logistics and operational requirements

Drilling Program Support and Oversight

  • Monitor drilling activities and coordinate operational support requirements
  • Support drill site construction, maintenance, and drill move activities
  • Assist with drill orientation and field setup activities
  • Monitor drilling progress and identify operational concerns
  • Apply geological judgment to support drilling decisions, including recommendations regarding drill hole extension or termination
  • Assist with final drill collar verification and monument installation

Geological and Field Support

  • Support geological mapping, sampling, and field data collection activities
  • Assist with organizing and documenting geological information
  • Support routine reporting and project documentation requirements
  • Maintain field records and operational data

Environmental and Site Support

  • Assist with water distribution and related field systems
  • Support reclamation and site restoration activities
  • Promote environmentally responsible work practices

Safety and Teamwork

  • Maintain compliance with Company safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures
  • Participate in safety meetings and field-level risk assessments
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and safe work practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting or coordinating field exploration programs
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in a remote field setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating remote field programs and drilling campaigns
  • Experience supporting helicopter-assisted operations in remote or sub-arctic environments
  • Experience with acQuire, Leapfrog Geo, and ArcGIS software
  • Heavy equipment operating experience
  • Experience working in remote camp environments

Working Conditions

This position follows a rotational schedule at a remote Alaska work site and may require working in varying weather conditions and around drilling operations, aircraft-supported activities, heavy equipment, and uneven terrain.

The role may require:

  • Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods
  • Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds

Successful candidates must pass a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and criminal background clearance.
