Job Description
We're looking for a curious Database Engineer or Database administrator to join the team at FinQuery. You should be comfortable with schema design, indexing, and query tuning. Beyond the technical foundation, we're looking for someone with a genuine willingness to learn and the drive to keep growing. We also care deeply about engineers who treat AI tools as part of their daily workflow, not an afterthought. Whether you built those habits through a job, coursework, side projects, or self-study, we'd love to talk.
We run Agile with Kanban, and we believe in continuous improvement in our systems, our tools, and how we work together. In this role, you'll get hands-on with PostgreSQL administration on AWS, work through real query performance problems, and help build infrastructure to scale alongside a growing company. You'll be doing all of this with a team actively using AI-driven approaches to make the work faster and smarter. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. If you have a solid academic background in databases or data engineering, a genuine interest in AI-powered workflows, and the drive to grow alongside a supportive team, we want to hear from you.

A solid foundation in relational databases and data architecture built through professional work, school projects, internships, or personal exploration
Experience or strong academic exposure to designing, building, and scaling databases
Familiarity with SQL and a real interest in going deeper with PostgreSQL and cloud database services
Comfort using AI assistants, copilots, and LLM-powered tools as a core part of how you work, not a novelty you try occasionally
A team-first mindset where success is defined by what we accomplish together
A proactive, curious attitude and a genuine desire to keep learning
1 or more years of experience in a data/database engineer or DBA role
