Job Description

Associate Principal - Security

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Associate Principal – Security in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of technical engineering excellence and early-stage leadership within complex, multi-discipline security projects. You will lead mid-sized engagements from programming through construction support, ensuring accurate design execution, strong coordination, and alignment with scope, schedule, and budget. Acting as a key discipline expert, you will apply sound engineering judgment to resolve technical challenges, mitigate risks early, and maintain high standards of quality and constructability. The position also blends client-facing responsibility with internal mentorship, requiring strong communication and collaboration across diverse project teams. You will contribute directly to improving delivery systems, documentation practices, and workflow standards through structured feedback and technical documentation. In addition, you will support business development efforts through client engagement, thought leadership, and participation in pursuits. This is a high-impact role for a security engineering professional ready to grow influence across projects, people, and systems.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and manage security-focused engineering deliverables across small to mid-scale, multi-discipline projects, ensuring quality, coordination, and compliance with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Oversee projects from programming through construction closeout, clarifying requirements, documenting decisions, and ensuring alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply strong engineering judgment to identify risks early, resolve coordination issues, and maintain project delivery predictability.
  • Contribute to internal systems and standards by improving documentation, workflows, and tools, including structured updates to shared technical resources.
  • Support client engagement through clear communication, reliable follow-through, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers through reviews, feedback, and hands-on technical support, strengthening overall team capability.
  • Participate in thought leadership and business development activities, including interviews, technical narratives, presentations, and pursuit support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent practical experience in ICT, Security, Physical Security, or Electronic Security disciplines.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in AEC or professional engineering services, with demonstrated project leadership responsibility.
  • Proven ability to deliver coordinated, accurate engineering designs and manage multiple priorities across complex project environments.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary project workflows, documentation standards, and client-facing delivery expectations.
  • Experience contributing to standards, QA/QC processes, or technical documentation improvements.
  • Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and version-controlled collaboration platforms.
  • Professional certifications such as PSP or CPP (preferred), with additional credentials like CDT, EIT/PE, or PMP considered a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills with the ability to influence without formal managerial authority.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $125,000 – $160,000 annually, based on experience and expertise.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage for employees and dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with profit-sharing contributions.
  • Paid parental leave and family-supportive policies.
  • Flexible time off for exempt employees, plus nine paid company holidays.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and voluntary benefits.
  • Lifestyle, legal, and pet-related benefits designed to support work-life balance.
  • Performance-based bonuses and opportunities for career progression in technical leadership tracks.
